Cookie policy

Last updated: September 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Kettering Old Grammar School Foundation uses cookies and similar technologies on this website.

It should be read alongside our Privacy Notice, which explains how we use and protect personal information more generally.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files stored on your computer, tablet or mobile device when you visit a website.

They can be used to make a website work properly, remember preferences, understand how people use the site and support other website functions.

The rules also apply to similar technologies that store information on, or access information from, your device.

How we use cookies

We may use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes.

Essential cookies

These are needed for the website to function properly.

They may be used for purposes such as:

• website security;

• page navigation;

• remembering cookie preferences;

• maintaining essential website functionality;

• protecting forms and other website features.

Because these cookies are necessary to provide the website and services you request, they do not normally require consent.

Analytics cookies

Analytics technologies help us understand how visitors use the website, for example:

• which pages are visited;

• how visitors move through the site;

• how often particular pages are viewed;

• whether visitors encounter technical problems.

We use this information to understand how well the website is working and where it could be improved.

Depending on how the analytics service is configured, consent may be required. Current UK rules also contain a limited statistical-purpose exception for some analytics technologies, provided specific conditions are met, including giving visitors clear information and an easy way to object.

Functional cookies

These may be used to remember choices you make or improve the way the website behaves.

For example, they may remember settings or preferences so that you do not have to select them again on each visit.

Some limited functionality or appearance technologies may fall within a legal exception, provided the relevant conditions are met. Otherwise, they will only be used where appropriate consent has been obtained.

Third-party technologies

Some parts of the website may use services provided by other organisations.

These may include services used for:

• website hosting;

• online forms;

• email newsletter sign-up;

• embedded content;

• analytics.

These providers may place their own cookies or use similar technologies when their services are used.

Where third-party technologies require consent, they should not be activated until you have made the relevant choice.

Your cookie choices

When you first visit the website, you may be given options to control how optional cookies and similar technologies are used.

Where consent is required, it must be given through a clear positive action. Simply continuing to use a website does not constitute valid consent.

You can change your choices at any time using the website's Cookie Settings control. A link to this can be found at the bottom of every page.

You can also control cookies through your browser. Most browsers allow you to:

• delete cookies;

• block some or all cookies;

• prevent third-party cookies;

• clear cookies when the browser closes.

Blocking essential cookies may affect how some parts of the website work.
